After we submit your identity-verification result to Companies House, Companies House sends the Personal Code to the email address entered in your application.
Based on cases we have handled, most emails arrive within 1 to 30 minutes. We have seen more delays or missing messages with Outlook addresses, fewer with Gmail, while business email delivery is generally more consistent.
Common reasons the code has not arrived after one day
1. The email address was entered incorrectly
The application email may contain a spelling mistake, a missing character or an address that cannot receive messages normally.
2. The Companies House email was not delivered
Even when the address is correct, an automated Companies House email may fail to send or may be blocked by the receiving email provider.
What to do
First, check your spam, junk, promotions and other filtered folders. If you still cannot find the message, contact us so we can check the email address submitted to Companies House.
If the original address was incorrect or continues to be unable to receive the message, we will start an information-correction process. Because the address already submitted cannot simply be used for another submission, provide a new email address that you can access reliably. Once the correction is completed, Companies House will send the Personal Code to the new address.
To prevent an unauthorised person from changing application information, you must also provide a photograph of the passport personal-information page when requesting the correction. We will continue only after confirming the applicant's identity.
Email the following information to support@verifydirectors.com:
- the applicant's full name;
- the original email address entered in the application;
- a new email address that can receive messages;
- a clear photograph of the passport personal-information page; and
- the order number or other information that identifies the application.
Changing the email address and requesting the code again is a normal correction process. It does not mean that the identity verification has failed.
